Pauline Zarrouk
Cosmologist
Pauline Zarrouk is a cosmologist at CNRS, working at the Laboratoire de Physique Nucléaire et des Hautes Energies (LPNHE) at Sorbonne University. After obtaining her PhD in 2018 and completing a post-doctorate in England, she was recruited to the CNRS in 2020. She uses the three-dimensional mapping of the Universe's large-scale structures obtained by means of spectroscopic surveys of galaxies, such as the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), to trace the history of the Universe's expansion and the formation of cosmic structures. The aim is to discover the mechanism behind the accelerating expansion of the Universe. She is also deeply involved in scientific dissemination and the representation of women in science, and is a member of the programming committee for the Fleurance Astronomy Festival and the Atmosphères Festival in Courbevoie.
